Major projects related to the Mainland

Hang Seng China cooperates with Shanghai Charity Foundation, Beijing Charity Association, Guangzhou Charity Federation and Shenzhen Charity Federation to set up donation boxes in outlets in Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou and Shenzhen, encouraging staffs and customers to contribute to charitable programs for children in poverty.

Fund Donations

In 2008 Hang Seng China and its employees donated for victims of snowstorm and Sichuan earthquake.

Hang Seng Bank Scholarship Schemes

Under the Mainland Scholarship Scheme, the Bank offers 84 scholarships annually to undergraduate and postgraduate students of 14 Mainland universities to recognise their outstanding academic performance. Over 400 students benefited from this Scheme since its launch in 1999.

The Bank offers 12 prizes annually to Mainland young bankers who have achieved outstanding performance in the Financial English Certificate Examination (Banking Category, Intermediate Stage), organised by the Hong Kong Institute of Bankers and Association of Chinese Financial Staff Education.

Rebuilding primary schools in mainland China

The Bank donated over HKD1.6 million between 1999 and 2005 to the Sowers Action to rebuild five primary schools in Hunan, Yunnan and Sichuan Province, benefiting over 1,700 students.
